Three of our Year 12s are attending a Transition to Work Program with Essential Personnel Registered Training Organisation every Friday this term.
The three; Jasmin T, Ari H and Jayden N- are representing our school alongside students from four other schools and are hosted at Penrhos College for the program.
The school to work transition program will culminate in a supervised work experience placement in which students are mentored to meet workplace expectations in career areas of their choice.
The aim of the program is to revise communication skills, emphasise workplace teamwork skills, problem solving experience and reinforce workplace expectations so that all students have background information that can enable them to move smoothly into the next part of their lives.
The program is funded by the Commonwealth Government and the training provider, Essential Personnel. If students complete the program it is hoped to provide assistance to locate further opportunities.

Schools from the Independent, Catholic and Government sector have linked together to provide this opportunity for students and families. However, the original establishment of this program was an invitation from Penrhos College to join with them and use their resources to successfully run this program for other school students.
