The Student Council at Como is a representative body of students that plays an important role in many decisions taken at the school. Issues are discussed at regular meetings and when necessary raised with the Executive Committee.
Student Council members actively participate in leadership workshops and conferences to enhance their skills, broaden their knowledge, and gain valuable experience in student governance.
In addition to these development opportunities, they represent the College at various events including ANZAC service(s), the St Catherines UWA – Boyd Dinner for Emerging Leaders, and the Soroptimist International of South Perth International Women’s Day Celebration breakfast. These experiences allow members to connect with community leaders, engage in meaningful dialogue, and develop a deeper understanding of civic responsibility and leadership beyond the school environment.
Tasks performed by the council include fundraising projects, facilitating and hosting regular assemblies and organising the annual Como’s Got Talent event.
Councillors are elected by their peers and serve on the council for a period of one year.
