All students entering Year 7 in 2028 are welcome to apply from Term 1 2027.
Our unique, well-rounded music program provides each year level with a balanced swing band so that students can perform together during class time.
The course gives a thorough grounding for entry into Jazz and Contemporary Music Studies at the Conservatorium of Music (WAAPA) and at the University of Western Australia.
For students with a more industry-oriented focus, the program enables senior students to gain a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Music Industry) which enables them to work in the music industry or continue their studies at a tertiary level.
The Specialist Contemporary Music program encourages students to develop strong time management skills. While celebrating musical growth, the program also values each student’s academic progress. Participation in the Music program is open to students who are committed to both their musical and academic learning journeys.
Students are expected to remain in the program until they successfully graduate from Como Secondary College in Year 12.
