Maali Café is operated by an external provider who will operate the food traffic light system as per the WA Health Department.
Maali Café takes it’s name from the Como Logo, the Noongar word for a swan. The artwork displayed was created by Lalla West. Lalla’s group is Kungkarrangkalpa Tjukurrpa, she lived in Ngaanyatjarra Lands, in the Gibson Desert of Western Australia.
Lalla, along with her husband Fred Ward worked at the college as Artists in Residence for several years. Lalla embraced working with young people and always had a cheeky sense of humour, she loved organising everyone around the painting, and radiated a sense of pride in her work.
Lalla West passed away in 2023. We acknowledge her contribution to the college and with permission from her family are delighted to be able to display her work.
