Dear Families and Friends of Como
Welcome back to Term 4! I hope everyone enjoyed a well-earned break and is feeling refreshed and ready to roll into the final term of what has been another wonderful year at Como Secondary College.
As we return, it’s important to remind everyone that UV levels are now high and sun safety needs to become part of our daily routine. Students are reminded to wear hats while on the oval and to make a habit of slip, slop, slap whenever they’re outdoors. Let’s all do our part to stay safe and healthy in the warmer months ahead.
Our Year 12 ATAR students have been undertaking study seminars and putting the final touches on their exam preparation. Remember, success is about balance — plan your study schedule carefully, but also make time to look after yourself. Being mentally and physically healthy is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, and it will serve you well during this important period.
Congratulations to our Dance students who performed at the Dance Showcase at Perth Modern School last night. By all reports, our students were outstanding — their talent, energy and creativity shone through, and they represented Como SC with great pride: bit.ly/46ZyyLD
A reminder to families that the College will be rolling out Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) from 2026. Our partnership with Solutions IT will support students and families through this process, making it easy to access approved devices, accessories and services. More information about our guidelines and expectations will be provided to families later this term.

A range of secondary school scholarships are now available to students across Western Australia. These scholarships recognise student achievement, potential and contribution to school life, and provide wonderful opportunities for support and enrichment. Of particular interest to Como students is the Bentley Senior High School Scholarship, which provides funding and opportunities for motivated students in our region. Our P&C will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this Monday at 7:30pm in the Staffroom. With the auditing of the financials now complete, all positions will be spilled. If you’d like to contribute to our school community, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and help shape the future of Como SC. Everyone is welcome, and we’d love to see some new faces join the team.
It’s shaping up to be a busy and exciting term, with many events, celebrations and learning opportunities ahead. Let’s make the most of it together.
