Como is committed to providing a quality education for all students in a safe, inclusive and caring learning environment.

The pastoral care provided by our teachers and staff ensures each student is given a feeling of belonging, support to develop a positive self-image, and help to manage the successes and disappointments in their life.

We work hard to provide a positive school environment where:

  • teacher-student relationships are based on trust and mutual respect
  • each student’s physical, social, intellectual and emotional development is promoted
  • there are strong partnerships between the school, parents and community.

We offer a range of support services and programs to ensure each student feels a sense of belonging and receives the best possible education.  Services comprise a broad range of professionals including Psychologist, Youth Worker, Chaplain and School Nurse. They work as part of an integrated health and well-being team within networks of schools, focusing on providing group-based and individual support, workforce capacity building and the provision of specialised services.

The team takes a case management approach to their work.  This means that each student referred to the team is discussed, information is shared and an outcome plan created for each individual student. This ensures students receive assistance in the areas required and which then continues for as long as long as it is needed.

Parents and caregivers are vital participants in the lives of students and form a valued team with teachers and staff to support and encourage the student in each aspect of life.
