Enrolment

Process

Thank you for your interest in applying to enrol your child at Como Secondary College, a Western Australian public school.

General enrolments are encouraged and should be submitted prior to the July of the previous year you are enrolling for.  Enrolment is determined in two ways:

Inside the intake area

If you reside within the local intake area, as determined by the Department of Education, Western Australia (refer to the map here) you may collect an Enrolment Form from the college or complete the the application form below.

An eligible student whose place of residence is within Como’s local intake area at the time enrolment commences is guaranteed enrolment.

Please complete an Application for Enrolment. Supporting documents are required please refer to the check list on page 5 of the enrolment form.

Outside the intake area

If you reside outside the local intake area and are interested in a general enrolment please complete an Application for Enrolment or see our selective entry programs.

Students residing outside the local-intake area are accommodated where possible. If you are applying to enrol your child from outside the local-intake area, a place is not guaranteed.  Once the number of local-intake area enrolments has been confirmed and Como has spare capacity and appropriate programs, applications from outside the local-intake area for the first round of offers will be assessed after the Application Closing Date.

The priority for students who live outside the local-intake area is in the following order:

  1. A child who is accepted into an Approved Specialist Program
  2. A child who has a sibling enrolled at the school for that year. This does not include a sibling who has gained enrolment through an Approved Specialist Program.
  3. A child who lives closest to the school (not closest to the boundary of a local-intake school).

It is highly recommended that you do not purchase items such as uniforms until you receive confirmation of enrolment. For more information, please see the Department’s Enrolment Policy here, Students Online In Public Schools Policy here or the Schools and You website at Schools and You.
