- Notice the difference in the students because of the resultant focus being taken off themselves and placed on others
The local community will…
- Benefit from the adult communities interaction with developing youth
- Be enriched by the contributions of the students to the building of Community spirit
Purpose
- The Community Service Program (CSP) educates students to know that giving helpful service to the community is an important value in our society.
Guidelines
- Students must complete 20 hours of community service by the end of Year 12 to achieve WACE graduation.
- CSP can be done either during school time or out of school hours.
- For accreditation, community service must be external to Como Secondary College.
- The hours of CSP are verified by the Como Secondary College Coordinator of CSP.
- The responsibility for completing community service remains with the student.
- Students may not proceed to Year 12 until the requirements for community service are met.
