Elaine Thor Teh

"I am Elaine Thor Teh and I came from Malaysia. I am in year 9 this year. Chinese is my first language and English is my second language. My cousin chose this school for me because Como Secondary College is a good school. At first, I am unfamiliar with the people and language, but I am getting used to studying and living in Australia now. I love Como Secondary College as a lot of classmates are funny and my teachers are helpful too. Also, the activities the school provides are fun and I do not feel bored."

Truc (Tina) Le

"I am Tina Le. I am from Vietnam and I am in year 11. I came to CSC in year 9 and it was a struggle and hard year for me but thanks to the teacher and their support, I eventually overcome the problems. The first one would be English because I am not native English speaking so it's hard to listen to the teachers while they are teaching and to write the essay/report or to read the information when I do research from the Internet. The teacher will always come to me and ask me if I need help. They are nice, friendly and if I do not understand something, they will explain it to me until I understand it. If I need extra help, I'll come to their office in recess or in lunch time, they are happy to help.

If I remember correctly there will be an excursion in each term and this excursion is only for international students from years 8 to 12 so you will go to the zoo or to Kings Park. Apart from the teachers, some Como students are nice, friendly and easy to make friends with, so overall I choose CSC because the school fee is not quite expensive and they have English class only for those whose first language is not English and I like it because the teachers are very nice and friendly and funny."

Adrian Leonardi

"I came from Indonesia to Perth to learn English. I already had been to many schools in Australia but Como Secondary College is the best school that I have ever attended. The first time I came to this school it was all weird. Some of the teachers gave me a headache because I didn't understand everything they said to me. I always tried to learn, even if I failed. I always did my best. When I came here I didn't have any friends but luckily my cousin live in Australia before me so I'm not lonely at all, we always went together.

After the first few week of school had passed, I started to have new friends, we always hanging out together. My favorite subject is Math because the teacher is so nice to me and always explaining some questions that I didn't know.

Perth is a good place to live because the air is still clean and didn't have much pollution, that's one of the reason why I prefer Perth than the other country."
