Metal Work at Como Secondary College is aimed at preparing students for future employment in the metals and engineering fields. There are three main areas of focus which are:
- Welding/ Fabrication
- Machining
- Sheet metal
Students have the opportunity to earn a Certificate 1 in metals and engineering as well as Materials Technology Metal 1A and 1B in year 11, 1C and 1D in year12
New and exciting opportunities for Como students will be created starting 2012 with the completion of the Como/ Kent st Trade Centre. Opportunities for school based apprenticeships and various other forms of training will take place.
