COMO Yr 8’s         vs        Aquinas Yr 8’s

Como showed much endeavour with their ball movement, spreading it wide when the opportunity was there, they also hung tough in defence, making some timely interceptions.  Aquinas had the majority of first half play, but fortunately couldn’t get the ball in the net.  Penalty corner defensive running was sound from como.  The second half saw some more positive play and better positioning by como.

Positional play all over the field, the press, reaction time and line of positioning when switching from attack to defence and back again, manning up in defensive areas.

MATCH REPORTS

Yr 8 vs Trinity College

Result – Como 8 vs Trinity 1

Our first game a team was very impressive.  The scoreline indicated the dominace of the Como players.  A great team effort, with all players demonstrating a willingness to try new positions.  Ryan Vickery was very impressive around the ground, defending well in the first part of the game before showing real class up the ground hitting a couple of goals.  Daniel Martin impressed with his composure in gaining and retaining the ball, while Jennifer Bradley read the play beautifully from a half back position.  Cameron Hyde pulled off a magnificent save in the first half which was inspirational.  All of the players enjoyed the experience and will hopefully be given more opportunities to shine in the near future.
