Enrolments

Thank you for your interest in applying to enrol your child in a Western Australian public school. Enrolment is a two-step process.  Parents first lodge an Application for Enrolment with the school. If your child is eligible for enrolment, you will be provided an Enrolment Form. The school will notify you of the results of your application as soon as possible.  The information you have provided will be used by the school once eligibility is confirmed.

An eligible student whose place of residence is within Como's local-intake area is guaranteed enrolment. Students residing outside the local-intake area are accommodated where possible. Enrolment at a school in the compulsory primary years does not guarantee future enrolment at a specific secondary school including one in the vicinity of the primary school.

Documentary evidence, including court orders relating to your child, may be required to support information supplied. Principals may consult with the Regional Education Office where sufficient evidence may not have been supplied.

It is highly recommended not to purchase items such as uniforms until you receive confirmation of enrolment.

If you are applying to enrol your child for this year and you are in the local intake area, you will be informed of the outcome of the application as soon as possible.

If you are applying to enrol your child from outside the local-intake area your child is not guaranteed a place. Once the number of local-intake area enrolments has been confirmed and Como has spare capacity and appropriate programs, applications from outside the local-intake area for the first round of offers will be assessed after the Application Closing Date. The priority for students who live outside the local-intake area is in the following order:

1. A child who is accepted into an Approved Specialist Program.

2. A child who has a sibling enrolled at the school for that year; this does not include a sibling who has gained enrolment through an Approved Specialist Program.

3. A child who lives closest to the school (not closest to the boundary of a local-intake school).

PLEASE NOTE: CLOSING DATE for Year 8 2014 applications is 26 July 2013 (first Friday of Term 3 year prior to proposed enrolment)
