Art

Art is expression. Expression of self, of image, of feelings, of medium. This medium can be photography, painting, sculpture, textiles, drawing, modelling and in today's modern world, through the manipulation of coloured pixels via computer technology.

All students study art in years 8 - 10 where they will learn the basics of art method and art theory before selecting the subject to study in years 11 and 12 if they wish to.

Visual art students through their arts prtacise and interpretation develop skills in organisation, analysis, visualisation, design, conceptualisation, and presentation.

The TEE course is covered in 3 learning disciplines and all are inter-related.

• Drawing - Visual Inquiry
• Art History and Criticism
• A Major Elective area - this is taken from one of the major mediums of art (eg Painting/Ceramics/Graphics)
